Arts and Technology Rationale

The arts and technology are integral to a modern classroom. Children are exposed to technology at a younger age and have a more advanced concept of social networking and communication than previous generations. With this change in society must come a change in the modern classroom. Students should be encouraged to research and explore new concepts through different technology and art mediums. Their access to historical timelines and the great works of art are a click away. They can bring together articles and research from around the globe to explore concepts of imagery and symbolism from works of art generations apart. They can draw inspiration from artisans throughout time to create their own inspired works, and have access to the technology to make their findings available to a larger audience. A more active, global setting for learning can be established in a classroom through the integration of technology into their studies of history, art and culture.
